The winter has really kicked in around the country with a sudden drop in the temperature. The main reason for this newsletter is to announce Old Timers Day which is Saturday 22 June, assemble at 11.30 with lunch at 12. Both teams play Marist with the first game at 1.00 and the second at 2.30pm. These games are vitally important to pick up the wins to allow them to make the play-offs. Let's all get there and support our teams and also enjoy each others company.
This day also coincides with a reunion of the 1999 championship winning Premier team. Kaierau netball is also having a get together.
The Saturday morning players will have a huge smile on their faces this weekend as their new jerseys have finally arrived. These are new jerseys for all morning grade teams which has been kindly funded by NZ Racing. This is fantastic for our junior players.
Phase 1 of the carpark has been completed thanks to Four Seasons Trust.
The gymnasium extension has started with $60k funding coming from NZCT.
The committee has been working particularly hard to secure this funding and spend it wisely. A credit to the decision makers.
Mark Carroll has accepted the position of Patron and is a worthy recipient to this honourable title.
Congratulations to all players that have made rep trials to be held June 15.
This adds up to some pro-active thinking by the committee and I am sure the results will come on the field as well.
Just a gentle reminder that to join the Old Boys Supporters club is $40 which is due now. A lot of ex-players/administrators have joined which is helping the club out immensely. It is a small way in which to stay connected to the club and also to receive these emails advising of what is going on at the club.
